According to the research, a half of the people admitted that they have had one night hookup. They are asked to describe the experience, especially how they feel the next morning. They found that although females are also allowed to enjoy casual hook up as they want, only 54 percent of females feel positively the next morning, compared to 80 percent of males. Many females suggested that they feel used and devalued after the hookup. Some even feel that they are slutty. Anyway, over a half of females feel regret.
Negative emotions are closely connected to casual hookups
Then why are we doing it over and over again? It all has something to do with motives. There is another research. It tried to find out what is the connection between emotional status and the frequency of people having casual hookups. In the study covered over 10 thousand people, it found people who have experienced severe suicidal intention and depression are more likely to engage in casual one night hookup later in their life. In other words, bad emotional status and casual hookups can reinforce each other both for males and females.
Is there hookup gene?
As a matter of fact, the answer is yes. A study once mentioned that when it comes to infidelity and casual hookups, DNA might be one of the major reasons. Try to think things happen around you that are related to cheating and casual hookups and try to observe their families. You will find that cheating is more likely to happen in those families whose parents once cheated on their partner. It has something to do with family education and family culture. Many their parents don’t think it is such a big deal, so that they won’t consider it as a serious issue, which result in the action of their child.
